This series is designed for everyone in the modern workplace, especially government clerks, to foster inclusivity and lead by example. Understanding the impact of explicit and implicit stereotypes is essential in creating a safe and welcoming municipality, and we will explore biases related to sex, gender, age, ability, and religion. Unconscious biases exist in everyone and can influence daily decision-making, often without awareness, affecting workplace culture and community interactions. We will define conscious and unconscious bias, examine their triggers, and explore key effects such as the Halo, Horns, and Contrast effects, along with eight common biases, including Affinity, Confirmation, and Gender Bias. Recognizing these biases is the first step toward meaningful change, and this course will provide strategies to promote bias-free interactions and equitable workplace practices. With a growing focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), municipalities are striving to ensure that every voice is valued and heard. By committing to self-awareness and fostering inclusive policies, we can build stronger, more diverse workplaces where everyone feels a sense of belonging
